Top of the range digital equipment such as Masser RACAL Callipers, Haglof Clinometers, and Garmin GPS are used to gather information in the forest.

I offer three types of data collection:

1. Sample plot surveys: an unbiased method collecting data from plots at client-agreed intensities, supporting forest valuations, clearfell and thinning assessments, and forest design planning.
2. Yield class assessments: tree height and stocking density surveys for forest design planning and forest valuations.
3. Forest volumes by tariffing: full tree counts combined with non-destructive sampling, reducing dependency on expensive precision mapping.

Data is processed using software I have developed to Forestry Commission (UK) conventions using the Blue Book.

Results are presented as PDFs or hard copies, with spreadsheets and digital plans provided for integration into client systems where required.

I have also assessed a teak plantation in Costa Rica for a UK purchaser. Using non-destructive methods to calculate volume and average tree size, the assessment identified a major overvaluation and prevented significant overpayment.
